Jazz Hour

Jazz was rooted in Southern African American music. By the 1920s, "jazz" was being played around the country by African Americans and Caucasian people and eventually became the sound we associate with the Roaring Twenties. The '30s ushered in the Swing Era with Duke Ellington, his Orchestra, and other Big Bands.
